Leaping Waters Farm Family Dinner

MENU:
Ancient White Park tenderloins
garden fresh cucumber
purple cabbage coleslaw
smashed warm herb new potato salad
rolls (from the freezer-NO THEY ARE NOT HOMEMADE!)
instructions:

Send 4 and 6 year old cheap labor to garden collect herbs. They are remarkably well trained at this point and come back with the following herbs: mint, purple basil, chives ,sage ,thyme and parsley.

While your husband and son are working on hay you are going to put this together. Unfortunately 14 yo daughter is getting a much needed break with friends in Roanoke so you are going to have to do it all AND do the dishes too.

4and 6 yo sort out their herbs and amazingly have done it right. You are very proud !!!

Boil the new potatoes which you dug up earlier. Remeber never to let your 6yo use the shovel again as she hit you in the head with it by accident.

meat was set out to defrost earlier

crazy Janes is only thing you use on meat

dressing for coleslaw is sour cream1/4 cupp, mayo 1/2 cup 2 tbsp cider vinegar salt and pepper and 2 tsp sugar.ok to mix together in advance

cucumbers so good they need nothing

Let your small children learn how to use sharp knives at a young age. It will pay off.

ingredients for potato vinaigrette are in photo- no measurements sorry...just add some of each til it tastes good- chop herbs up fine and smash it all together

Heat your rolls

light the charcoal fire 3 x as your husband and son are delayed so long in hayfield
and somehow still manage to keep the steaks med rare

Light some candles
YOU ARE SET!!!!

csa recipe

Thank-you Amy for posting this photo of you culinary creation. Remind me to tell you the story of Vernon the "mad weed wacker" who has single handedly decimated our pea population.Don't worry he has not got them all and Jeanna and I are on to him!!!! Maybe you need to cook him some so he is motivated to take better care around them!

HOLY COW!!! Memorial Day Chef to Farm Event a huge success!!!!

The event was a big success due to the people, the food and the fun!!! These photos say it all
