1. take a ramekin or small shallow dish
2. put half inch of apple cider vinegar
3. add a couple of drops of dish soap and swirl it a few times
4. set it near the spot where they are hanging out and they will drop like flies (pun intended)
Mean Plan
If you are having food wasted before you eat it, here is something I have learned. As soon as the basket comes, I menu plan. I lay everything out on the kitchen counter, cut things up, organize in containers, and then match the produce to what's in my pantry. So here's an example of my menu for this week:
Mon: BBQ chicken, veggie medley, baked potatoes
Tues: Cucumber sandwiches, pasta (husk tomatoes, cucumber) salad, fruit
Wed: Eggplant Parmesan and Fried Okra
Thurs: Ground Beef Tacos with fresh salsa
Fri: Ground turkey w/ squash, zucchini, tomatoes on penne w EVOO/garlic sauce
Sat: Chicken Teriyaki w rice and purple/white beans
Sunday: Omelets w tomato, mushrooms, onion
All items in orange are from Leaping Waters Farm.
All Those Colors:
Some of you are asking me about the colors. If it looks like a potato, it's a potato. If it looks like a tomato, it's a tomato. If it looks like a green bean, it's a green bean. And remember you can "google image" any of the veggies if you type in a description.
Also....... have you guessed Sarah's favorite color by the veggies you are getting? :)
